I LOVE the way the colors POP in this pic! My family. Def. the *loveliest* things I've seen! : )
Trillium, white and red.
Violets at the base of a tree.
Oscar enjoying Stock Creek.
GREENS of the mountain. I LOVE SPRING GREENS! I can't say it enough! lol

A dogwood blooming in the forest.
Jack in his pulpit.

Jack-in-the-pulpit...*not* being spied on. lol

Daddy spotted this one for me....a maple seed taking root in a bridge.

I need to look this one up....my grandmother planted it, it's above her spring, but I don't know what it is. Red bud...or is it redbud? I think redbud.
Cherry. This particular tree has yellow cherries. They're good. ; )

And apple.

They smell SO good!

4-12-09, and 4-11

Backside of the tunnel. Trillium. Trilliui? lol
Squirrel corn! Who knew?
This one is an anomaly, quince blooms which the girls stuck in an invasive Bradford Pear. It's living on borrowed time....my DH wants to cut it down each summer when it starts branching out (it's right beside our front steps), but I intercede and it lives another year. When we get our new house, though, the probable path of the driveway will go right through it. Que Sera Sera.

A trout lily, a gift from one of my kids. : ) And hey, look...my reflection! lol

4-4-09

Today, I discovered this beauty in my back yard. I transplanted several last year, when I came across a new road being cut through their home, and I just couldn't bear to see them killed. Today we took a walk in the woods. If you click on the picture you may be able to *just* make out a black dot or two...red-tailed hawks catching the currents above the mountain.

And...*what* we were doing on our walk up the mountain...mushroom hunting! This one was my find...one of the most photogenic mushrooms we found today. ; )
